A Female Green Ranger For Power Ranger Sequel?

Spoiler Alert: This article contains minor spoilers for the Power Rangers movie. The post credit preview teased that the Green Ranger would most likely appear in the sequel to the film.

It later confirmed by the Power Rangers Twitter when they posted a Green Ranger helmet.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dacre Montgomery revealed that the cast hoped the new ranger would be played by a female in the sequel.

“A lot of the cast and I have discussed that we think it should be a girl. It makes it even: three girls, three boys. It’s left blank. It’s a cliff-hanger. Whoever you’re going to drop into that position, whether it’s a girl, it’s inevitably going to create drama. It’ll be interesting to drop that drama into it and see how we all relate to it and work with it.”

It would make perfect sense to balance out the team of having three female and three male Power Rangers, and having a Green Ranger may not be too much of a stretch (seeing how Rita Repulsa was the original Green Ranger).
