Over 8,000 of fans have petitioned Warner Bros Studios to make Wonder Woman bisexual in her upcoming sequel. Gianna Collier-Pitts started the petition after seeing the film and realizing they had cut out her bisexual history.
Ed Skrein responded Monday to a backlash against his casting in the upcoming Hellboy film. When news got out that he was cast for the role it was met with complaints Hollywood was once again “whitewashing” an Asian character. The wave of female superhero films breaks the stereotype that women are just damsels in distress, it teaches young girls they can be empowered women. They aren’t just love interests, or sidekicks, or another member of the team. They are teaching everyone now and generation to come that women can be strong, smart, and can fight.
It would make perfect sense to balance out the team of having three female and three male Power Rangers, and having a Green Ranger may not be too much of a stretch (seeing how Rita Repulsa was the original Green Ranger).
