See How This Artist Brought Back Old Paintings With Classic Nintendo Characters

Dave Pollot takes old American-style artwork and repurposes it to have a nostalgic gamer feel by putting in characters from our favorite video games and TV shows. Dave finds abandoned art at thrift stores and garage sales and brings them back to life with his inserted pop culture parodies.

You’ll see other characters like the Terminator, Jack Skellington, and even Rick and Morty.

His work features thrift store painting which are then repurposed to have Mario, Bowser, and Luigi go-kart racing down the roads. This piece named “Riding Dirty” features Yoshi with a shell, Luigi’s death stare, Mario, Bowser, Toad, and Koopa.

He even added our favorite shipping company, Planet Express from Futurama, flying over a beautiful ocean view.
