Could it may have been because of the high cost of obtaining the film rights to the original manga and anime? What about the low ratings and reviews of the film? Or was it really whitewashing and a lack of response from millions of fans?
Everyone, needs to tell Hollywood we’re sick of this and we want more diversity. If you aren’t, you’re part of the problem.
Hollywood has had a tradition of casting white actors in non-white roles, Emma Stone in Aloha, Rooney Mara in Pan, and the entire Caucasian cast for Gods of Egypt. Guess what happened Hollywood? They all flopped.
